Karoo suspended my account earlier this month for alledgly distributing an
episode of an american tv program, well they said if I wanted to be back up
then I would have to write a letter stating that I have deleted the program
and also that I would not do it again.

Patronising gits, who in there right minds is going to admit in writing that
they are distributing stuff over p2p.

I toild them where to go and cancelled my account as I have had ADSL for
well over 12 months, all I can say is that Karoo just do not seem to want to
keep customers and would rather loose a long standing customer (been with
them from start of Karoo) rarther then upset some git in the US who acussed
me of distributing a measly episode of a tv program

I am on dial up now with Virgin and will soon be enjoying broadband from
KC's new local rival, I pray it takes off and many tell KC where to go.

mmmmmm I will be leaving for the new pastures, I haven't seen the signal
yet.

The question you should have asked them is

"how do you know that I did?"

Depending on their reply there is another question that has to be asked

"If you monitored my connection to find that info out, do you realise that's
a crimminal offence under the RipA Act, and probably numerous telegrapgy
acts?" - Mr Gaspar (Deputy Director UK Wide Police Force, can't remember
the name of it, do a search for him and uunet) Internet comms are treated
in the same way as telephone lines btw.

or

"Do you realise that logging into my computer without my permission is a
crimminal offence under the Misuse of Computers Act?" - Misuse of Computers
Act 1992

and from there.

"You do realise that evidence collected by an illegal act is inadmissable in
court don't you?" - bloody obvious even to KC

From their they scuttle off to see their legal department. Usually takes
about an hour before they enable your account.

The above are a must for anyone who's account gets suspended. Not that I'm
biased, but suspension without definate proof, proof not gained by a
crimminal offence, is a sHH8t trick that KC play when they know you have
nowhere else to go if you want broadband.

A Guy from paramount emailed them and that was enough for the pratts at
Karoo to as usual go and treat a customer like shit.

I had EMI, Sony, The BMI, Polyphonic, IWF and a few others do that to me.
This is all rumour since no-one will admit to me what or why. It was also
claimed that it was because I downloaded Oracle, even though Oracle
obviously give me permission. It seems they'll use any excuse to anyone who
won't challange them

Hope you get sorted.
